Versace on the Floor - Drum Cover
Drumming has been my number one passion for the past 11 years. As a musician, one of the most important ways to be successful is to create a product that showcases your abilities. Since I’m primarily a metal musician, this drum cover was a step out of my comfort zone. The purpose of me recording this video was to exemplify my well roundedness as a drummer. Although the sound quality isn’t great and the video only consists of one angle, I believe that this is a great way to show the world that I am a creative drummer that can adapt to different genres. Be sure to skip to around 2:45 for excessive embellishment, grinning, and arm flailing.
Through my instruction of applied percussion at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, I have furthered my knowledge of the art of drumming by learning how to read music, learn new grooves in different genres, and how to appropriately execute those grooves based on the context of the performance. Creating videos such as this has attributed to my skill with using software such as GoPro Studio, iMovie, and Garageband. These videos have also taught me how to use a YouTube page.
